In this case study, we are going to look at the case of Mr L (we have abbreviated his name to protect his privacy), who suffered a moderate back injury at work, when he was employed by a  Council. The accident happened when a backrest on a chair that he was sitting on collapsed, causing him to fall backward. Details of the Moderate Back Injury

moderate back injury As a result of his accident at work, Mr L suffered a moderate back injury. At first he “didn’t appreciate how serious it (the accident) was” and went home to rest. He had pins and needles in his work and as a result of the accident was unable to walk for 3 months or return to work for 6 months. Almost 2 years later he was diagnosed with a condition called mechanical back, following an MRI scan. Although Mr L was eventually able to return to work, his quality of life was affected by his injury.
