Tekena holds an LLB (Hons) from Swansea (1999–2002) and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Manchester (September 2003 – June 2004) with a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
He was admitted as a solicitor in March 2007 and has maintained active practice since, undertaking continual professional development in litigation and case management.

He is currently a Team Leader in the Data Breach Department, where he is responsible for supervising case strategy, managing workflow, and ensuring successful client outcomes in complex breach matters.
Previously, he worked at Carpenters Limited as a Fee Earner and Litigator in the RTA Personal Injury team, managing both litigated and pre-litigated files, dealing with liability disputes, and negotiating settlements.
Before this, he was a Solicitor at Scott Rees & Co Solicitors, where he handled a substantial caseload from inception to resolution, often involving contested liability and quantum.
Earlier in his career, Tekena practised at Lloyds Solicitors as a Solicitor in RTA Personal Injury, where his responsibilities included conducting proceedings, drafting pleadings, and attending interim hearings. He also worked at ATM Solicitors Limited in a similar role, focusing on both fast-track and multi-track RTA claims.
Tekena began his legal career at Beevers Solicitors, first as a Trainee Solicitor and later as a qualified Solicitor. During this time, he developed core litigation skills and strong client care, progressing to independent file conduct following his admission.
